# Welcome

**NFTX is a neutral fungibility layer for NFTs.** It gives NFT collections deep, fungible liquidity so a trade never waits on a counterparty. Deposit an NFT into a collection's pool and you get a **floor token** — an ERC-20 backed 1:1 by the pool and instantly sellable at floor value. Burn the token to redeem an NFT. Everything is non-custodial and runs on non-upgradeable contracts.

NFTX v4 is a relaunch on **Uniswap V4**. It keeps the original DNA — fungible floor liquidity — and goes further, adding a self-assessed listing system that delivers immediate liquidity across every rarity, not just the floor.

## How it works, in brief

* **Feeless entry and exit.** Depositing and redeeming NFTs is free; fees are concentrated in the listing and swap layers, not on getting in or out.
* **Floor tokens.** Each collection becomes an ERC-20 backed by its pool — so a collection can be traded, pooled, and priced like any token.
* **Liquid Listings.** List a non-floor item at a price you choose and receive a freshly minted floor token immediately; the item sells later at your price. You set the price, but the listing fee scales with how far above floor you go and for how long — so overpricing is possible, just expensive.
* **Instant swaps.** Trade ETH against a collection's floor token through its Uniswap V4 pool, or swap floor NFTs directly.
